Iowa / Kings Hill History

Gold was discovered in Iowa Hill in 1853. The town rapidly grew due TO significant gold deposits, with weekly production estimated at $100,000 by 1856. By 1880, the total value of gold produced from the district reached an impressive $20 million.

MORE RECENTLY, THE AREA WAS KNOWN FOR ITS 99 PLANT PRODUCTION OF CANNABIS. A SECOND GOLD RUSH AS IT WERE. THE 99 BOXES ARE STILL ON THE SITE. the laws however have changed once again.
